WHERE THERE IS A POINT, THERE IS A CAMINO HAPPY INDOOR INTERNATIONAL DOT DAY 2018

WHERE THERE IS A POINT, THERE IS A CAMINO  HAPPY INDOOR DAY OF THE POINT!

For the past 5 years, numerous schools from the USA to England, including Canada, Guatemala, Australia, Turkey and Zambia (among many others), celebrate the International Day of the Point (" International Dot Day "), on September 15, as an artistic alternative to the stressful "Vuelta al cole" . This original proposal is due to Peter H. Reynolds who, inspired by his own school experience as a "problematic student", according to his teachers, has been writing and illustrating stories about and for children ... at four years old. ..

The twin brothers Peter and Paul Reynolds who were born in Canada in 1961 but who live in the state of Massachusetts (United States) since 3, have always shared the same living and professional space. They inherited from their parents "very eccentric and fond of Monty Python ", according to Paul, his great sense of humor and love for tea: the first led them to write, with only 7 years, his own newspaper and the second to illustrate comics with the used sachets; and, since then, they have not stopped or separated. At the end of their respective studies, they created the Fable-vision studios to produce programs, applications, and didactic material in order to encourage and encourage children's creativity...

Among the many books Peter has written and published Paul so far, El Punto soon became a literary reference, translated into more than 20 languages, as soon as it goes on sale on September 15, 2003. To write, Peter was inspired by a demolishing observation: "I visit classes often and ask who likes to draw. In kindergarten, all raise their hands. Then, as I go asking in the higher courses, the number of hands up decreases until, finally, no one raises his hand or point to the "artist of the class". It is sad to see how the artistic and creative energy it is decreasing, it is disappearing. I am convinced that it is because children learn that there are 'rules' to follow. But when it comes to expressing yourself, you can invent your own rules. You can change them, stretch; you can ignore them and throw yourself into the unknown. "

The Point is the story of Vashti, a girl who does not know or who dares not draw. Thanks to her art teacher who trusts her talent, Vashti manages to find the artist she has inside. What began with a point on a blank sheet of paper ends up being an interior journey full of surprises through a palette of colors. As an anecdote, Peter dedicated El Punto (or his initiatory "point") to his math teacher who, fed up with his antics, had thrown him, in his day, the challenge of showing what it was worth.

According to Peter and Paul, "Where there is a point there is a way", help your children find yours to leave their mark!
